    Blue Duck Lounge is an urban oasis in the heart of our nation’s capital. Enjoy seasonal cocktails, tempting martinis, and an extensive wine list, with many hand-picked pours by the glass, or sip rare and vintage teas from our renowned tea program in our Tea Cellar. Comfortable seating and “Capitol Hill” glass-enclosed booths create an intimate gathering spot – perfect for after work drinks and light fare bites.

    The Lounge is seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Beverages are served from 11:30AM – 12:00AM, with last call at 11:45PM.

    Food is served from 11:30AM – 10:00PM.

    Oolong Tea - Pure Tea

    Oolongs are a specialty of Fujian. They are known as blue-green teas among the Chinese due to the color of the infused leaves and have had their oxidation interrupted during processing. Many oolongs vary according to the growing region, species of tea plant, and processing method.

    • Park Signature Da Hong Pao

      Originating in the Wuyi Mountains, Da Hong Pao, translated literally as big red robe, is one of the most well-known Chinese teas. Our Signature Da Hong Pao is specifically created for Park Hyatt Washington DC. Its complex savor and full-bodied texture are accompanied by a hint of floral aroma. Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Tie Luo Han - Iron Arhat

      Tie Luo Han is one of the four most renowned single-varietal teas from Wuyi Mountains. In a distinct orange tea soup color, this highly limited production tea brings a full-bodied smoothness and long-lasting aftertaste. Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Shui Jin Gui - Golden Turtle

      Shui Jin Gui is one of the four famed single-varietal teas from the Wuyi Mountains. It has a vivid yet transparent fragrance with a smooth and mellow taste. Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Bai Ji Guan - White Cockscomb (Limited)

      Bai Ji Guan is one of the four most famous single-variety tea plants in the Wuyi mountain area. Bai Ji Guan is distinguishable by its signature light yellow leaves. Once infused, Bai Ji Guan leaves display a charming greenish-yellow color. Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Rou Gui

      This tea is from the Wuyi Mountains. It is made through three rounds of roasting with fresh leaves of the best quality. The long-lasting dense aroma, rich flavor, and mellow aftertaste reflects its special terroir. Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Qi Lan

      From the Wuyi Mountains, this tea is only harvested in the spring season. The name means extraordinary orchid. Its aroma is immersing. This smooth medium roast tea with magnolia and jasmine fragrance finishes with refinement. Origin: Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, China Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Tie Guan Yin Imperial

      ‘This is the highest quality Tie Guan Yin tea. The leaves are almost black-dark green, with a slightly yellow tint around the edges. It produces an amber liqueur with a hazelnut-like, flowery bouquet. Long-lasting taste in the mouth, this is a tea of great delicacy. Origin: China Caffeine Level: Medium

    Oolong Tea - Blended

    • Seven Citrus Oolong

      Oolong tea with 7 citrus fruits: lemon, lime, orange, Seville orange, grapefruit, bergamot, and mandarin. A beautiful tea combining citrus notes and the woody character of oolong tea. Caffeine Level: Low-Medium

    Yellow Tea-Pure Tea

    Yellow tea is an increasingly rare and expensive variety of tea. The process for making yellow tea is similar to that of the green tea but with an added step of sweltering. This extra step gives the tea leaves a slightly yellow coloring during the drying process.

    • Jun Shan Yin Zheng (Limited)

      Jun Shan Yin Zhen is from the Hunan Province in China. It is one of the rarest among the Ten Chinese Famous Teas. Jun Shan Yin Zhen produces bright yellow color, and refreshingly sweet and mellow taste which is a distinct character of yellow tea. Origin: Tongting Lake, Hunan, China. Caffeine Level: Medium-High

    Japanese Green Tea

    • Gyokuro

      Produced from the first flush of the tea bushes which are shielded from sunlight for chlorophyll-rich, dark leaves. Caffeine Level: Medium

    Japanese Green Tea-Blended

    • Genmaicha Yama

      Genmaicha Yama is a traditional Japanese tea that blends Bancha green tea with roasted brown rice. Refreshing plant notes beautifully complement the toasted flavor of the grain, giving the tea a very characteristic quality. Caffeine Level: Low-Medium

    White Tea - Pure Tea

    Traditionally, white teas are a specialty of the province of Fujian in eastern China. This color of tea requires the least complex processing method, yet it is the most delicate of all teas.

    • Silver Needle

      This spectacular tea is exclusively made up of silvery tips making it extremely light yet very high in caffeine. It has a unique flavor of ripe grapes and no other tea can even come close to its delicacy. Origin: China Caffeine Level: High

    White Tea - Blended

    • The Des Songes Blanc

      This delicious and subtle white tea, sprinkled with safflower petals and strawberry pieces, tastes of rose, orange blossom, and berries. Caffeine Level: Low-Medium

    Chinese Green Tea-Pure Tea

    The difference between Chinese and Japanese green teas are the methods in which the tea is heated to prevent oxidation. The Chinese traditionally dry heat the tea leaves and buds in a wok or pan whereas the Japanese steam their green tea. The dry heat process produces a richer nuttier tea while the steamed Japanese counterparts retain their freshness and color.

    • Bi Luo Chun

      This tea is one of the oldest tea with the history of over a thousand years. Its fresh leaves are very delicate. It has snail-like leaves that infuses with grassy essence with refreshing finish. Origin: Lake Tai, China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Long Jing—Dragon Well

      One of the most popular green teas in China, Long Jing has a delicate fragrance, a slightly sweet flavor and a silky texture. The liquor is velvety and its chestnut aroma lingers for a long time in the mouth. Origin: Zhejiang, China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    Chinese Green Tea-Blended

    • Jasmine Beauty Pearls

      The finest green tea buds are shaped into tiny balls and scented seven times over with freshly picked flowers, which are then removed by hand, one by one. The very best among jasmine teas. Origin: China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Icy Mint

      This tea brings together the fresh, peppery aromas of mint leaves and the vegetal notes of a delicious long-leaf green tea. Origin: China. Caffeine Level: Low Caffeine

    Herbals and Tisanes

    Originally known for their medicinal benefits, herbal tea has now evolved to offer the most intense flavors. Depending on its blend, the tea can seem rich, fruity or floral.

    • Secret Garden

      A blend of spearmint, lemongrass and yellow fruit, this herbal tea transports you to a sweet summer's night. Caffeine Level: Naturally Caffeine Free

    • Melange Du Cap

      A blend of Rooibos with cocoa nibs and vanilla pods. Origin: South Africa. Caffeine Level: Naturally Caffeine Free

    Performance Tea

    Performance teas are known as display tea or living tea. When brewed, these teas open into beautiful bouquets.

    • Moonlight Litchi Blossom

      This wonderful green tea is hand-tied and scented nine times with fresh tropical litchi fruit. The fruit scent and natural essence absorbs directly into the tea leaves for pure exotic flavor. This tea is of the most exotic scented performance teas ever created. Caffeine Level: Medium

    Black Tea-Pure Tea

    Black teas, which the Chinese calls red tea due to the coppery color of the infusion, are teas whose leaves have undergone full oxidation.

    • Scent of Longan

      Scent of Longan is a type of Jin Jun Mei . Being the highest-quality black tea, only newly sprouted leaf tips from the high-altitude tea trees are chosen. The name of Scent of Longan is inspired by its sweet and honey taste, similar to the taste of Longan fruit. Scent of Longan has a stunning amber color. The honey aroma and long-lasting sweet taste lingers in the mouth from the first brew to the last cup. Origin: Tongmu village, Fujian, China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Jin Jun Mei-Pre Qingming Havested

      This tea is from Tongmu village, the birthplace of black tea and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the spring season, only the tea buds are harvested. Jin Jun Mei engrosses the natural sweetness and honey fragrance, along with a long smooth finish. Origin: Tongmu village, Fujian, China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Lapsang Souchong

      The tea is from Tongmu village, the birthplace of black tea and a UNESCO world Heritage Site. The tea is literally smoked with open fire which creates a very subtle hint of smoky pinewood and sweet flavor. Origin: Tongmu village, Fujian, China. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Keemun Imperial

      This black tea is extremely difficult to find, being one of the rarest and most highly sought-after teas in Anhui. Deliberately produced in very small quantities, Imperial Keemun owes its excellent reputation to its unique aroma: a perfect balance between malty, woody and chocolaty notes. Origin: Anhui, China. Caffeine Level: High

    • Yunnan Buds Premium

      A quality premium Chinese black tea composed exclusively of buds with golden, downy tips. Yunnan Buds Premium is a true delight, with its notes of truffle and leather. Origin: Yunnan, China. Caffeine Level: Medium-High

    • Jukro

      Jukro is a premium black tea from South Korea which is a velvety Grand Cru with a refined sweet acidic flavor. It reveals fresh, vegetal, floral, and almond tinge. Origin: Hadong, South Korea. Caffeine Level: Medium

    • Grand Himalaya First Flush Darjeeling

      This tea is exceptionally fresh and lively, with a mild flavor and less astringency then other first flush teas. Origin: Darjecling, India. Caffeine Level: High.

    • Kenya Kirinyaga

      This tea is from the Meru region and is harvested in the area around Mount Kenya. "Kirinyaga" — the name given to this famous red volcano by the Kikuyu — means "white mountain”. This black tea is made from clonal tea plants specific to the region. Its intense woody and honeyed notes, as well as its robust texture make this powerful black tea a perfect breakfast companion. Origin: Kenya. Caffeine Level: High

    Black Tea-Blended

      Earl Grey with a pronounced bergamot flavor, enhanced with safflower petals. Caffeine Level: High

    • Big Ben English Breakfast

      A wonderful blend of Yunnan and Assam. Both mild and invigorating, mellow and spicy. Caffeine Level: High

    • Chai Imperial

      Chai Imperial is a delicate black tea pepped up with a generous blend of green cardamom, pink peppercorns, cinnamon, ginger, and orange zest. Caffeine Level: Medium-High

    Pu-Erh Tea

    Pu-Erh teas are fermented black teas. Renowned in China for their antioxidant qualities, they aid digestion and eliminate fats.

    • Pu-Erh Imperial

      A very fine crop, with many buds for this very particular type of tea. Its powerful scent is reminiscent of damp soil and bark with long woody, licorice notes. Origin: China. Caffeine Level: Low

    • 1999 Vintage Toucha Pu-Erh

      Toucha is a form of pu-erh in which the tea leaves are pressed into small individually wrapped bowls rather than large bricks. In the case of pu-erh, the older the better, making this 1999 vintage a rare treat. Origin: China. Caffeine Level: Low

    • 1978 Vintage Reserve Cave Aged Pu-Erh

      Aged for over 45 years and mellowed with time, this smooth, earthy pu-erh offers a taste few have experienced. Origin: China. Caffeine Level: Low
